| About Me: |
Dave started knee boarding and body boarding in 1979. A few friends got him into surfing around 1985.
He has entered some contests over the course of surfing with some of his friends just for the fun of it, Including placing 3rd at his first pro contest in 1994 at Sebastian Inlet, but admits that he has never really been into contests and never really had the right mentality for them.
His boards varied, most were from , George Robinson, Natural Art, Ocean Ave. Spectrum, Rainbow, and Channel Islands, tending to favor epoxy and bamboo boards for their strength, In 1989 David began shaping boards for his self and for friends.
Although, he doesn\\\'t have a favorite break, he says it mostly depends on the day and who is out. Saying you can have as much fun on a small 2 foot Florida day as you can with a 25 foot day at Back Door, if the wrong people are there it will suck no matter how sweet the swell is.
